We're So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

Yesterday was one of those days where ALL of us were basically sitting by the door waiting for Mike to come home. Between Ainsley and Isaac I had cleaned up one shattered jar of jelly, one shattered candle holder, one splatter can of yogurt, smashed crackers, smooshed bananas, all of the books that had been thrown off of the bookshelf, and many toys!

After all of the other spills I had cleaned yesterday, Mike and I walk into the kitchen only to find the contents of a Gatorade bottle all over the kitchen floor. Michael knew the drill, he grabbed the kids and carried them off to go play. A few minutes later they come out of Isaac's room with jackets on and head for the garage.

I may be waiting by the door for Mike to get home to do a hand off, but the children wait by the door because they are so excited to get play time with Daddy. We are lucky to have such a great husband and daddy in our lives!

Oh Brooke! isn't motherhood full of adventures?!?
sorry - i am just getting around to answering your question. I have had a crazy past 3 weeks, and my foster kids are actually getting moved tomorrow finally, so I have been pretty tied up for the last little while. ok- so Dev has been looking mostly up by dallas. I have an aunt & uncle who live in a little town called Gilmer. It is about 30 minutes out of Longview. I told him about your town, and he said when he gets home on thursday, he is going to look it up. so- I will definitely keep you posted! he would loooove to live in TX. Anyway, i will talk to you soon!

I know the feeling. They never can get home soon enough it seems. Looks like the kids were having fun. I totally wanted to get that John Deere tractor for Ben for Christmas! Maybe for his birthday this summer...he and Isaac can go exploring together.

I'll just say ditto to that entire post.

Well, except the broken/food items I cleaned up today were a little different. Love your new header picture!

Brooke! What a day! No wonder you weren't on GT! Mike is a great dad, and you are an even better mom. The way you keep your cool, and laugh at all things I admire sooooooo much. Plus you have 2 super cute kiddos that make it all okay! :) That is what true parenting is all about when each takes equal turns. I love your new family pictures. Sooo cute!

I'm sure Mike is great, but I'm really impressed with the clean empty garage. Ours is always packed too full for even our cars. Congratulations on that accomplishment!

I love the new family picture, I was just wondering the other day if you ever got them. Isn't that funny how kids can't wait for daddy. All Michael does is walk in say hi and Hunter gets a huge grin on his face!

Good to know I am not the only one who cleans all day just to find another mess, then wait by the door for daddy to come home for the hand off! Your pictures are so cute. You look great!
