Child LIKE not ChildISH

Isaac, Ainsley, and I went shopping this past Saturday. I was trying to find some things for decorating my house, and I hit gold at Ross. Found the exact things I was looking for and at a great price! Go to purchase my items, and here is where the drama starts.

There were only TWO registers open and at least 15 people waiting between the two. We stood in line for almost 15 min (kid you not!). The line we were standing in was headed in an L shape, if that makes sense. I was finally fourth in line, and just about to make my way around the corner and be straight on with the register. Anyway one couple comes up and I over hear the man say "Yeah right, they think they can make the line go that way" and nods pointing to our little L shaped line (NOTE: we were trying to keep the shopping path clear and that is how the odd shaped line started). So this couple kind of cuts me off but keeps their distance a little.

The lady just in front of me gets frustrated with the wait and leaves. I start to move up to my place in line and that's when the couple moves in much faster. Now I was getting a little irritated standing in line for so long. Cart full, holding Ainsley on my hip, while trying to keep Isaac entertained. So when this lady cut me off, seeing what a struggle I was having, and I flipped.

I looked at her and said "Are you kidding?!" She just smirked and took another step forward. I said "this is ridiculous I have been waiting here longer than you. Then said to Isaac (the embarrassing part for me "this lady is very rude and I don't want to wait here any more." Isaac starts crying because he can't get the toy he picked out, and I make my way to the exit, just fuming. What kills me is look of satisfaction on this women's face.

I was furious, but decided to keep shopping and head for the next store on our list. Luckily Michael's (the store) had cheery Christmas music playing, and NICE fellow customers. There was a sweet woman who let me get in front of her in line because I had less than she did AND two squirmy children. Her politeness along with the music calmed me down completely.

Now I am just embarrassed about my childish display. Dang, now you guys know I am far from perfect :) !! Hopefully I have learned my lesson and next time I can control my temper!

sounds like something I would do..haha! I think you had every right to say something. I probably would have been much worse! Anyways- looks like you figured out the sitemeter thing. all you have to do to view it is click the sitemeter icon on your blog then click on "by detail" on the left side. Then the list of viewers will come up and to read the detail you just click on the # listed under the detail column. It is still hard to know exactly who it is but the referring url and the location usually give you a pretty good idea. It also shows you how many pages they viewed and how long they were on. Hope that helps! Good luck!

It is amazing how some people just don't really care about others. Sorry that happened, it would have been hard for me to contain my anger as well. And I've met a few people like that, who on top of everything else, think they can give me parenting advice because my kids are acting up because they've been patiently waiting in line for so long!

Well you are a better person then me for SURE!!!!! I would have lost it. But you know what. We are far a few between. There is not many nice and honest people out there anymore. Some and most people are just RUDE!! And its not like it was your fault but other people dont care and thats what makes me SO mad.

I HATE people like that. I'm guessing people like that either don't have kids or have forgotten what it's like to have kids. Makes ya so mad! Ummm...I'm surprised Michaels is already playing their xmas music. Does that mean it's okay for me to bust out my xmas cd's and start playing them? I've been waiting :)

Some people are ridiculous! I think you handled it very well. You think people would have a little courtesy these day.

The childish person was her. You are way too nice Brooke. You should've pointed her out to everyone else in line as well as the cashier and if that didn't fix it get a manager. Actually, I take that back, I'm usually better at pretended ignorance. I would've done something fakely nice like say, "Oh, I'm sorry, you didn't notice, but the line is all the way back there. Sorry." If that didn't work, then I turn into a jerk. I'm all for getting good customer service these days. Some people are jerks and think they can get away with everything and will get away with everything if you let them. At least you said something to her.
Do you remember the movie Fried Green Tomatoes? Remember the part where the two cute, young ladies race into the parking space that the older lady has been patiently waiting for? The girls jump out, smirk at her and say something like, "We're younger and we're faster." She just sits there dumbfounded for a second. All of a sudden, she steps on the gas and rams their car and bumps it out of its place while the girls look on in horror. She gets out of the car and says, "Sorry girls. I'm older and I have more insurance." AAAhhh, sweet justice.

What a rude lady! Thank goodness for Michael's! I am nosey and saw someone tell you about sitemeter. I decided I am not a fan of it. I have used it for a few months and I don't like how they won't tell you exactly who is looking. It will sometimes say unavailable, or it will just say where the person got your referral link. Maybe I am a retard and need a lesson on reading it better. I admit I have been freaked out by people in crazy countries reading my blog. And I found that several people found my blog through googling my name. So okay, I do love sitemeter. I guess I just wish they could tell me more. Dang, now you will know how often I am checking for updates! :)Oh ya, hide your sitemeter link on the very bottom under your music because then it is less obvious and people won't notice it on there. Then you will really see how many times people are getting on (without commenting!:)) When I notice sitemeter I try and limit my clicks! haha!
And about the insurance stuff: Dang it! I am so sorry they denied it. I would just keep fighting it every time. I'll be crossing my fingers for you!:)

Oh my gosh. You are so much nicer than I would have been. I would not have left and I would have stomped all over her. Ug. I suppose there are people like that so we can learn patience. At least Michaels was uplifiting. Did you go back to Ross and get your perfect home decor?

It's really sad that so many people are so selfish. The fact that you had two children, should have moved you up a couple spots!

New York has changed me in how I manuver in lines. Unfortunately, I would have probably seen the lady trying to advance and I would have cut her off (and whomever else was in my way)with my cart. I find myself cutting people off all the time when I am walking, getting in line, etc. when I see they are preparing to cut me in line. I am so rude!
