Lazy Day

We all have colds around here, and I didn't feel like doing much, so I worked on some scrapbook pages. I still need to figure out how to take good pictures of the pages. I don't know if it's the lighting, or cropping that makes them look so poor. You pro's out there I could use some advice!

Cute scrapbook pages. I have yet to do a page that I really like. Yours tured out so good!

Love the pages...especially that first one!

I scan mine, but I scrap in 8.5x11 so it makes it a lot easier. With 12x12 you have to stitch and it's a beast. But, if you do want to try scanning, I scan at 300 dpi, and put a towel over the scanner to minimize shadows if I used lumpy stuff. Then I resize it.

I've never taken a picture of a layout, but I have read lots of advice on it...they say to take it outside and do it in natural light to get the most true color. Most people lay it on the front porch or whatever and stand above it, sometimes on a chair to get a good square image and then they crop it in their photo editing software.

I have seen a lot of ladies taking pictures of layouts on an ornate little easel, too.

Good luck! They still look awesome, so I'm sure they look amazing IRL!

Lara's advice is best..I take pictures of my layouts outside underneath our garage....then I go in and crop around them! Super easy and the result is nice!

i put my pages up to a white surface (usually our fridge, cause it's right next to our big open doors) and then i take the pics with no flash on...there has to be tons of light...then i crop them and tune them as needed...changing the highlights, fill light...that sort of thing...i don't think they always turn out that great, but for the most part, i am pleased with them! hope that helps!

by the way...love that last layout :)
