Lessons Learned This Week

What a week and it's only Thursday morning!!! The lessons I have learned this week:

1. Never buy tropical smelling trash bags again. Really who was I kidding, thinking it would mask the smell of food and dirty diapers. Hah! Now every time I open the trash can I smell diapers, food, and something that resembles tropical air fresheners (Key word RESEMBLES!)

2. If I make a batch of cookies I end up eating most of them myself. . . same goes for the Halloween candy too.

3. The harder I try to diet the more I want the foods I shouldn't eat (see above).

4. Texas weather is TEMPERAMENTAL. We had a nasty storm the other night. All kinds of lightening and true raining of cats and dogs. Then it got so cold the next couple days. Then this morning it is warm and sunny out. Note to self: buy all seasons of clothes for the kids, because you never know what you will need!

5. The longer I let the dishes pile up in the sink, the harder it is to get the courage to start cleaning!

6. Having a permanent attachment to my hips, does wonders for my posture (sarcastic). Ainsley has serious separation issues right now, and is glued to my hip. Good news though I am becoming ambidextrous.

7. Photography is harder than it looks. So much to learn, lots of practicing, and definitely not easy with "on the go" subjects!

8. Takes me at least 30 minutes to clean one room, and five minutes (or less) for Isaac to trash it.

9. I have more energy through out the day if I work out first thing in the morning, and sleep better if I do yoga before bed. . . but it's doing it that is the hard part.

10. Never ever put light colored carpet in my house when I have young children!!! Our house came with light carpet, and now it looks like feaux fur, dalmatian style! I feel like I am constantly cleaning spots (LOVE MY SPOT BOT). When I have the money saved I want wood floors, or even darker carpet!!

11. When making soup in my food processor NEVER forget the cover/shield thing. Soup will come flying out and spray the entire kitchen. Adds to the daunting task of cleaning the kitchen!!

I will have to give you a big A freakin' MEN!

Except for the tropical trash bags. Haven't tried those, so thanks for the heads up. :)

The diet stuff is killing me lately. I've caved and had candy corns way too much (love them). They are now gone from my house and I won't be buying more, so hopefully I'll still lose at least a pound this week. Sigh.

Oh, and the cleaning and trashing by the kids thing. Makes me so angry sometimes....why do I even bother? But then I just have to think how my house would look if I never cleaned. :)

I hear you loud and clear on #4. Our weather here is the same- craziness. Last week, it was so cold (the high was 58) and then this week it's been warm (in the low 80s). Last night it rained and rained- so today the % humidity was way higher than our temperature high. Like nowhere I have ever lived before.

So true about the cookies/halloween candy. That is why I haven't bought any yet, it would not last a week.

I think I have learned a lot of those lessons also but the funny thing is that I don't really learn! Like the cookies and the diet... I don't know how many times I have to learn those! Oh well- maybe the spinach brownies are the answer to my problems! HAHA! I made them and they are pretty good. :)
p.s. I have been in a Texas rainstorm and they are crazy!

Texas weather is insane, huh? Being from AZ I have never experienced anything like it. Totaly unpredictable. Jack is like Ainsley these days...he has to have my face right in front of him at all times. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

why would you be making soup in a food processor? weird... If you need to you can make cookies and then send them to me so they will be out of the house and you wont eat them.. I know it would be rough taking them from you, but I am willing to make that sacrifice.

Okay I could to relate to just about every thing on your list. The carpet, the cleaning up, the kid attached to your hip...Carson is so attached right now it's starting to really be a little annoying. Oh well.. guess I should enjoy it b/c one day he probably won't want me anywhere near.
